Berms and bacteria: a couple more sources - one of them illustrious

Orrin Pilkey, Emeritus Professor of Geology at Duke University, author of hundreds of papers and books, doyen and uber-guru of all things coastal, has stated his views on the sand berms issue:

Pilkey was Robert Young's PhD supervisor and the two have worked together on a number of projects, including the book The Rising Sea, published last year. I've quoted Young's views many times in my posts on the berms issue. And Pilkey was kind enough to link to the first of those posts.
