Predictable, I guess, this contribution. But to me, the endlessly fascinating patterns sculpted on a beach are quintessential illustrations of nature playing with scale, process, and ephemerality. I realise that I've cheated a bit here - three images rather than one, but I'd actually prepared a bunch more before I appreciated that Chris and Anne, hosts of this Accretionary Wedge at Highly Allochthonous were asking for a photograph. Beautiful images. And there's no penalty for cheating. I'm with you - the patterns of sand on a beach are endlessly fascinatin, and the photos you've chosen here are really quite striking in their complexity. Thanks for participating in the carnival.
