Sometimes, the fewer words the better. The words of Russian photographer Andre Ermolaev, "...an inexpressible combination of colors, lines, and patterns," are sufficient to introduce his stunning images of Icelandic Rivers. The collection is highlighted on The Superslice site and elsewhere, including here and Ermolaev's own site (in Russian).

Absolutely stunning.
I wonder if Anne Jefferson has seen these.

The colors! What produces those?
Makes me think of Hopkins' gratitude for
skies of couple-colour as a brinded cow;
For rose-moles all in stipple upon trout that swim;
Fresh-firecoal chestnut-falls; finches’ wings;
Landscape plotted and pieced—fold, fallow, and plough; 5
And áll trádes, their gear and tackle and trim.
All things counter, original, spare, strange;
Whatever is fickle, freckled (who knows how?)
With swift, slow; sweet, sour; adazzle, dim .....
What with these and the following posts, you're giving us a month of treats, Michael.
